Hello Storytellers and friends!

Good News. Its official.!We will be doing a round of stor-building sessions ( Classess)  culminating with a field trip to participate in the Moth! This round “ On the Road” will be focused on continuing to strengthen our performance skills, and to add to our "repertoire of Stories."  Enough of you have expressed interest for me to continue and make this happen, so....

So, here's the scoop:

The theme is "earth,"

(On Larpenteur Ave. Parking in lot out front, or on Coffman Street. We will greet you at the door to let you in, and meet, 3rd floor, upstairs in Social Lounge, where we will also be performing.

WHAT: As a part of being in our building, I am inviting curious residents to  watch our “Practice sessions” the 2nd and 4th week of classes. This will be a chance for interested parties to check out what we are up to, and allow us to have a practice audience for instant feedback.

HOW MUCH: For the five sessions, and the Tuesday night show here, I would like to charge a fee of $120. That will help cover the cost of the room rental and AV for the show, and, of course, your truly.

TO REGISTER: I have set up this page to facilitate enrollment and registration.  You always have the option of paying the first day of class with cash or check, but if you wish to secure a place in this round, it would help me with my planning,. So....I’ll throw in an “early bird gets the Moth” incentive. 10 percent off (I’m starting to sound like a salesman here!)  until March 10th

Please let me know if you have questions, or problems, and thank you so much!

Honeymoon Manuscript/Limited edition!

Honeymoon monologue fans!  Thank you for your interest!

Here's the deal: Currently 'Honeymoon," is unpublished, and to be honest with you, I think it was a bit of a mess. ....just never quite came together, so when I "cannibalized' the play for monologues, I didn’t anticipate the number of requests to see the script.  And it didn'y make the data migration and the playwright is too busy and  popular to type it in...so...

That being said, I have copied and sent it to a few people, which cost about $15 bucks, all told. I could do that for you, if you're interested. All I'd need is a mailing address...and then you can see it for yourself, the workshop script, with lines and scribbles, Soon, it will be an updated rewrite in a PDF, and this will not be available anymore

Till then,,Hope this is helpful, and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

For the workshop manuscript, follow the pay pal button below , put down the
$15 bucks, (Includes shipping and handling,) and you'll get one first class mail!

And if you are using Jody’s monologue for auditions, ...and want to cheat and say you read the play...
.. here is a brief Scenario to catch you up on the background of the play...so you understand the context of the monologue, and make choices that make sense to you:
Lower middle class parents with kids that are too smart for their own good. His Dad watches Honeymooner reruns. His mom wants to get out of the house and sell water purification systems. His sister has just married "Punt," a "Punch and Judy" puppeteer who Jody doesn't trust, Judy and Jody's best friend Twyla has left her abusive boyfriend "Nick....again. And Jody walks into the reception, interrupting a conversation between Judy and "Punt" where Judy realizes they thought more about the wedding then they did about marriage...and that's where the monologue begins. That Jody tends to talk around the point, rather than getting to it, should be obvious. The dramatic question would be...what's he Noi talking about?

Jody is a recovering Psych major, and both he and his sister Judy are, as may be obvious, a little "in their heads" all the time, thinking, analyzing second guessing. They are both going thru pivotal moments in their lives, with her getting married and him wondering about his sexuality and commitment level and ability to follow thru and actually do all the good things he's learning, or just keep being "young and free" for awhile longer. In their own way, they both experience the desire for love versus the fear of commitment. So...That's the context before the monologue you mentioned.
In the end, they both learn to find ways to think less, witness more, worry less, wonder more..... dream less, wake up more...Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask, and best wishes for continued usccess and exploration,
